JKBOTE, which is an acronyn for Jammu and Kashmir Board of Technical Education.JKBOTE came into being as an individual entity under the Directorate of Technical Education in 1981. Subsequently it was transformed into an autonomous body of Government of Jammu and Kashmir by an Act of 2002, of the then State Legislature. The dimensions of work performed by JKBOTE has incremented manifold over the years with a boost in the number of courses offered by the Polytechnics with a simultaneous escalation in the number of institutions in the state.
